Job description

The Construction Project Manager’s role is to ensure that the project / project section is completed on time and within budget with the project’s objectives having been met.

The Construction Project Manager is responsible for supporting the Project Director / Senior Project Manager in all aspects of the project’s life cycle, thus providing an overall management solution for all project processes and procedures.

The Construction Project Manager is an effective manager, communicator, problem-solver and organizer with sound knowledge and relevant experience.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification (University Graduate) in either Project Management, Building Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture or similar plus a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in project management role and in the construction industry
  • Progressively increased responsibility over career duration
  • Relevant projects of an appropriate scale (Hotel projects)
  • UAE experience preferred
  • Active membership of a relevant professional institution is an additional consideration

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a level of service that meets the expectations of Mirage and is regarded as being of a high standard within the project management profession
  • Identify areas for improvement in project delivery plans and implement action plans accordingly
  • Manage a project / project section and drive the achievement of quality, program and budget targets
  • Assist in the administration of the Construction Contracts
  • Manage Value Engineering workshops
  • Conduct regular progress updates with the Planning Manager
  • Provide valuable input into the assessment and adjudication of Contractor Delay Claims
  • Inspires confidence and trust in interactions with Clients and key stakeholders
  • Conduct meetings, produce minutes and drive outcomes
  • Manage and motivate multi-disciplined teams and colleagues
  • Participate in the Procurement process
  • Provide detailed input for the monthly and other reports and make recommendations
  • Anticipate problems before they arise and develop mitigation plans
  • Participate in Risk analysis workshops
  • Manage the Commissioning and Close-Out of a project
  • Other project management duties as assigned by the Project Director / Senior Project Manager
