Cyber Security Analyst

Job Purpose:

Monitoring, detecting, analyzing and responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents, This role plays a key part in protecting the organization’s digital assets, ensuring security policies are forced, and supporting continuous improvements in the cybersecurity posture, Core Responsibilities:

•

Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM, EDR, NDR, and other security tools.

•

Perform initial triage to classify alerts based on severity, relevance, and impact.

•

Escalate validated alerts and suspicious activity to higher tiers following the escalation matrix.

•

Document observations, actions, and evidence clearly in the ticketing system.

•

Participate in daily SOC handovers and provide concise updates to incoming shifts.

•

Validate SIEM dashboards, correlation rules, and data source health at shift start.

•

Conduct basic phishing and malware analysis using sandbox and threat intel tools.

•

Identify repetitive false positives and report them for tuning or rule optimization.

•

Maintain shift discipline, follow SOC playbooks and SOPs, and ensure SLA compliance.Qualifications:

Educational:

•

Bachelor’s degree Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or arelated field.

Years Of Experience:

•+2 Years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or network/system administration.

Nature of Experience:

•Proven work experience as a system security engineer or information security analyst.

•Experience in building and maintaining security systems.

•Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security.

•Hands-on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detectionsystems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering,etc.

•Experience with network protocols, network administration, and network installation

•Proficient in preparing written reports and documentation.
