Riyadh University of Arts (RUA) is a newly established institution dedicated to arts education, creative practice, and cultural development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As part of Vision 2030, RUA is being developed as a national centre for arts education and a catalyst for the Kingdom’s growing cultural and creative sectors.

About the BA Acting (Theatre & Film) Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Acting (Theatre & Film) is a four-year undergraduate programme that provides intensive conservatoire-style training for stage, film, and media performance.

The programme combines studio-based practice, academic study, professional preparation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Students develop the artistic, technical, and professional skills required for careers in theatre, film, television, digital media, and related creative industries.

Delivered in partnership with AMDA College of the Performing Arts, the programme reflects international standards while supporting the development of Saudi creative talent and cultural leadership.

Position Overview

The BA Acting (Theatre & Film) Program is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Acting & Performance for the 2026/27 academic year.

The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of conservatoire-style actor training across stage, screen, and interdisciplinary performance contexts while supporting the development of the University’s inaugural Acting programme.

The role is suited to a skilled practitioner-educator who combines professional performance experience with a commitment to student development and high-quality teaching.

English is the primary language of instruction for the theatre programme.

Key Responsibilities

The Lecturer will:

• Deliver high-quality studio-based teaching within the BA Acting programme

• Teach acting, performance, movement, voice, improvisation, or related areas according to expertise and programme needs

• Support students’ artistic, technical, and professional development through structured practice and mentorship

• Assess student work and provide constructive formative and summative feedback

• Contribute to rehearsals, workshops, productions, and performance-related activities

• Collaborate with faculty colleagues to support integrated programme delivery

• Contribute to curriculum enhancement and programme development

• Participate in student recruitment, admissions, outreach, and public engagement activities

• Attend programme meetings and academic activities as required

• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment

• Uphold professional, ethical, and institutional standards

Teaching responsibilities may include one or more of the following:

• Acting and performance training

• Acting for stage and recorded media

• Movement and physical performance

• Voice, speech, and text work

• Ensemble practice and collaborative performance-making

• Improvisation and devised performance

• Rehearsal processes and professional studio practice
