Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides advice on serving as the official point of contact for international clean energy initiatives.
- Participates in international conventional clean energy initiative events, such as the Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Forum, Mission Innovation, and the Global Methane Initiative, and works to take a leading role in technologies related to hydrocarbon materials.
- Contributes to defining criteria for evaluating and monitoring international initiatives related to clean energy, sustainability, and climate change, and to actively participating in areas in which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has a leading role in their implementation.
- Recommends activities to ensure that international policies take into account the impact of national policies and measures undertaken by the Kingdom to reduce the local impact of greenhouse gases on the growth and development of various sectors.
- Provides advice on matters related to advancing research and development in technologies for reducing and eliminating carbon dioxide emissions from conventional fuels.
- Recommends measures to ensure the promotion of research and development in technologies that convert carbon dioxide into value with economic benefit, and works with entities that share common positions to encourage and participate in pilot projects.
- Recommends measures that encourage international and local efforts to research and develop various technologies, such as direct air carbon dioxide capture technologies, carbon capture applications from ships, synthetic fuels, and hydrogen technologies.
- Contributes to defining frameworks for coordination and collaboration with research, development, and studies centers in the Kingdom to determine their role in these initiatives, and to prepare for international conferences and meetings related to international clean energy initiatives.
- Recommends measures related to following up on, encouraging, and promoting the Circular Carbon Economy concept in all initiatives in which the Kingdom participates.
- Provides advice regarding the follow-up on the implementation of international bilateral agreements related to climate change, carbon management, and conventional clean energy.
- Adheres to the policies, work behaviors, and procedures of the organizational unit.
Performs any other tasks assigned by direct supervisors.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Energy Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, or any specialization related to the field of work.
- A Master’s degree in Energy Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Climate Change, or any specialization related to the field of work is preferred.
Required Experience and Number of Years of Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the same field of work.
