Industrial Skills Training Specialist – Crane Trainer

The Industrial Skills Training Specialist – Crane Trainer is responsible for delivering practical and theoretical training to trainees in mobile crane and heavy equipment operations, with a strong focus on safe operating practices, competency assessment, and skills development. The position requires a qualified and experienced crane operator who can effectively test, train, and evaluate trainees to ensure they meet required operational and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver theoretical and practical training programs related to mobile crane operation and heavy equipment operation.
• Conduct practical assessments and competency tests to evaluate trainees' knowledge, skills, and safe operating practices.
• Train trainees on proper mobile crane operation, equipment handling, pre-use inspections, and safe operating procedures.
• Monitor trainee performance during practical exercises and provide constructive feedback to improve operational competency.
• Ensure all training activities are conducted in accordance with applicable safety procedures, training standards, and departmental requirements.
• Identify trainees' strengths and areas for improvement and provide appropriate coaching and additional guidance.
• Maintain accurate records of trainee attendance, performance, assessments, and competency results.
• Support the development and improvement of training materials, practical exercises, and assessment methods related to crane operations.
• Ensure training equipment and practical training areas are used safely and maintained in suitable condition.
• Stay updated on industry practices, crane operation standards, and safety requirements.

Minimum Job requirements:

• Diploma in Crane Operation, Crane Technology, or a related technical, trade, or vocational specialty.
• Minimum of 4 years of field experience as a Mobile Crane Operator.
• Demonstrated competency and practical experience in Mobile Crane Operation and Heavy Equipment Operation.
• Strong experience in testing, training, assessing, and developing trainees in crane and heavy equipment operations.
• Good knowledge of mobile crane operating procedures, lifting practices, equipment inspection, and occupational safety requirements.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering is preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Technical, Trade, or Vocational studies is preferred.
• English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 60, Paper-Based 498, or Computer-Based 171.
• Strong communication, coaching, assessment, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deliver effective classroom-based and hands-on practical training.
