Full-Stack Engineer & Team Lead (Laravel & React)

Job Summary

Nextwo is hiring a Native Arabic Full-Stack Engineer and Team Lead to both build features and own the delivery of a Laravel + React team. You'll have full command of both stacks and take features end-to-end yourself, while also being the first line of review, the point of contact for planning and status, and the person who keeps task assignment fair and organized. This role suits a senior engineer who is as strong technically as they are at mentoring and leading a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Have full command of both Laravel and React, able to take a feature end-to-end endpoint, resource, UI, and tests to project standards.
• Own the team's delivery and are accountable for its quality and fit to requirements.
• Act as first-line reviewer of the team's work, catching issues internally before customer review or QA.
• Coordinate task assignment within the team, moving away from self-assignment, and staying on top of who's working on what.
• Serve as the single point of contact for planning and status updates, both internally and with stakeholders.
• Mentor the team and raise the overall bar on quality through coaching and hands-on guidance.
• Balance hands-on development work with review, planning, and team leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

• 7+ years of full-stack development experience, with strong, hands-on command of both Laravel and React.
• Demonstrated experience leading, reviewing, or mentoring a development team.
• Proven ability to take a feature end-to-end (backend, frontend, tests) to a high quality bar.
• Experience with code review processes and setting or enforcing coding standards.
• Comfortable owning task planning, assignment, and being the primary point of contact for a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both technical and cross-functional.
• Native Arabic is a must.

Technical Skills

• Backend: PHP, Laravel, REST APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL
• Frontend: React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS
• Testing: PHPUnit, Jest, or equivalent frameworks
• Leadership: Code review, task planning, mentoring
• Tools: Git, CI/CD, project management tools (Jira/Trello or similar)
