Cami is the AI-native operating system that replaces it. Scheduling, payments, customer records, marketing and reporting in one platform, with an AI layer that handles the work an owner would otherwise do manually.

It is a large and underserved market, and the technical problem is genuinely hard. This is software that takes real money, holds real bookings and runs businesses that cannot afford downtime. That is what you would be building.

The role

We are hiring a Senior Full Stack AI Engineer to own product features end to end, from API design through to deployment. You will build across Node.js services, React front ends and AWS infrastructure, and integrate LLM capabilities into workflows that merchants rely on daily to run their businesses. This is a hands-on role. You will work directly with product, design and engineering peers, and your work will ship continuously.

What you will do

• Build type-safe, performant APIs and services in Node.js, NestJS and TypeScript
• Deliver responsive front-end experiences in React and Next.js with reliable client-server state handling
• Implement and optimise LLM-powered features including prompting, semantic search, RAG and agentic flows
• Build and harden core booking, payment and customer data flows across every channel we support
• Maintain meaningful test coverage across unit, integration and E2E layers using Vitest and Playwright
• Contribute to GitHub Actions pipelines that enforce build, test and deploy quality gates
• Ship and operate services on AWS using Terraform, ECS Fargate, ECR and CloudFront
• Build features that respect tenant isolation and regional data-residency requirements

Our stack

Node.js (NestJS, Fastify, TypeORM), TypeScript, React, Next.js, TanStack Query, TailwindCSS, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS SQS, AWS (ECS Fargate, ECR, CloudFront), Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Playwright, Vitest, Twilio, Auth0, and LLM APIs including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI and Anthropic.

What we are looking for

• 8+ years building and running modern web platforms in production
• Deep Node.js and TypeScript experience, ideally with NestJS or Fastify
• Strong React and Next.js experience with modern front-end practices
• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs into real product workflows, not prototypes
• Solid PostgreSQL fundamentals including migrations, schema evolution and query performance
• Practical experience with containerised AWS deployments and Terraform
• Comfort with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing
• Clear communication in a cross-functional team

Nice to have

• Experience in scheduling and booking, POS or payments domains
• Experience with messaging or communications platforms
• Multi-region routing, tenant isolation and data-residency controls
• Experience mentoring junior and mid-level engineers
