Energy Economics Analysis Manager
Germany, Permanent
We are working with a major international energy business that is expanding its presence and investment activities in Germany and we are therefore looking for an experienced Energy Economics Analysis Manager to become its internal expert on the German power market.
This is a senior analytical and advisory position responsible for developing the organisation’s long-term view of German electricity prices, market fundamentals and asset revenues. Your work will directly influence major investment, development, acquisition and divestment decisions.
You will:
• Own and develop long-term German power-price forecasts and market scenarios
• Analyse supply, demand, market design, regulation and government support mechanisms
• Model project revenues, costs and gross margins across different energy technologies
• Support the commercial evaluation of development and M&A opportunities
• Undertake market-related commercial due diligence
• Contribute to government support and revenue-stabilisation bids
• Assess contracted revenue opportunities, including corporate PPAs
• Provide independent commercial recommendations to senior leadership
• Monitor developments in Germany and neighbouring European power markets
• Manage relationships with specialist energy-market advisers and industry bodies
You will need:
• Significant experience analysing the German power market
• Strong economic, commercial and financial modelling capability
• A detailed understanding of German and European electricity markets
• Experience producing power-price forecasts or market scenarios
• Knowledge of project revenues and economics within power generation, renewables, storage or networks
• An understanding of how energy policy and regulation affect commercial outcomes
• Experience working with energy-market advisers or forecasting providers
• The ability to translate complex analysis into clear commercial recommendations
• Confidence presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders
• Fluent written and spoken German and English
This opportunity would suit a senior analyst, manager or principal consultant who combines detailed power-market modelling with strong commercial judgement and wants to influence major energy-transition investments in Germany.
