Role Description

A Farm Manager is responsible for overseeing daily farm operations, production, staff, equipment, and resources to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily farm operations and production activities.
  • Develop seasonal production plans and work schedules.
  • Oversee crop cultivation and/or livestock operations.
  • Supervise farm workers and assign daily tasks.
  • Monitor crop and livestock health, quality, and performance.
  • Manage irrigation, fertilization, pest control, feeding, and related activities.
  • Maintain farm machinery, equipment, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Manage farm supplies, materials, inventory, and storage.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers.
  • Maintain production records, operational data, and reports.
  • Monitor yields, costs, productivity, and farm performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and agricultural standards.
  • Identify operational issues and implement practical solutions.
  • Improve productivity, sustainability, and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and management reports.
  • Train staff and promote safe and effective working practices.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Horticulture, Animal Science , or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in farm management or agricultural operations.
  • Strong knowledge of crop production and/or livestock management.
  • Understanding of irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and farm operations.
  • Experience supervising farm workers and managing daily activities.
  • Knowledge of agricultural machinery and equipment.
  • Understanding of health, safety, environmental, and agricultural standards.
  • Experience with budgets, inventory, suppliers, and cost control.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good leadership and communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and physically demanding environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant farm-management systems.
  • Professional, responsible, practical, and proactive approach.
