Assistant Manager

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Assistant Manager to support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations of our supermarket. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, retail experience, and the ability to manage staff and store operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager in managing daily supermarket operations.
• Supervise and motivate staff to achieve sales and operational targets.
• Ensure excellent customer service and handle customer complaints professionally.
• Monitor sales, stock availability, expiry dates, wastage, and product displays.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing, promotions, and cleanliness of the store.
• Monitor stock receiving, transfers, replenishment, and inventory control.
• Conduct regular stock checks and support stock-taking activities.
• Control operational expenses and minimize product wastage and losses.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety, hygiene, and municipality requirements.
• Prepare and review daily operational reports.
• Coordinate with the Head Office, HR, Accounts, Purchasing, and other departments.
• Take charge of the branch in the absence of the Branch Manager.
• Ensure staff discipline, attendance, grooming, and proper work allocation.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of supermarket/retail experience.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Department Manager, or Senior Supervisor is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of supermarket operations, inventory, merchandising, and customer service.
• Good leadership and staff-management skills.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer knowledge and experience with POS/retail systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet sales and operational targets.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
