Job description

Job Title: ELV Technician
Department: Engineering / Maintenance
Reports To: ELV Supervisor / Project Engineer

Job Summary

The ELV Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems in BANKS, residential, commercial, and industrial facilities. The technician ensures all ELV systems are installed and maintained according to approved drawings, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and maintain ELV systems and equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical/ELV drawings, schematics, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Perform cable pulling, dressing, termination, labeling, and testing.
  • Install and troubleshoot:
  • CCTV and IP surveillance systems
  • Access control systems
  • Intercom and video door-entry systems
  • Structured cabling and data networks
  • Public Address (PA) / Voice Evacuation systems
  • SMATV/IPTV systems
  • Intrusion alarm systems
  • Gate barriers and parking systems
  • Master clock and other ELV systems, where applicable.
  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and fault diagnosis.
  • Use testing equipment such as cable testers, multimeters, fiber testers, and network testing tools as required.
  • Identify and rectify wiring, connectivity, hardware, and configuration faults.
  • Coordinate with electricians, MEP technicians, engineers, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
  • Maintain installation and maintenance records, test reports, and daily activity reports.
  • Follow approved method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
  • Ensure installations meet project specifications and applicable codes and standards.
  • Attend preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Report defective equipment, materials, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good working condition.

Requirements

  • ITI/Diploma/Technical qualification in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of relevant ELV experience preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of ELV installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Basic knowledge of IP networking, TCP/IP, PoE, and network devices is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a technical team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • SIRA KNOWLEDGE AND DRIVING LICENSE WILL BE AN ADDED ADVANTAGE

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per month

Work Location: In person
