Sofa Upholsterer / Furniture Upholsterer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Sofa Upholsterer / Furniture Upholsterer to join our furniture production team.

The successful candidate must have strong hands-on experience in sofa and upholstered furniture manufacturing, with the ability to complete high-quality upholstery work from start to finish.

We are looking for someone who understands quality finishing and can work on different sofa designs, including custom-made furniture.

Key Responsibilities

• Upholster sofas, chairs, headboards, benches, ottomans, and other upholstered furniture.
• Work with different types of fabric, leather, foam, batting, webbing, springs, and other upholstery materials.
• Measure and cut fabric and other upholstery materials accurately.
• Fit and stretch fabric correctly to achieve a clean, professional finish.
• Install foam, padding, webbing, and other materials as required.
• Carry out complete sofa upholstery from the prepared wooden frame through to the final finish.
• Work on different sofa styles, shapes, sizes, and custom-made designs.
• Understand drawings, measurements, samples, and instructions provided for custom furniture.
• Create clean corners, seams, piping, stitching, buttons, and other upholstery details.
• Remove and replace existing upholstery when carrying out repair or refurbishment work.
• Identify and correct upholstery defects before the furniture is completed.
• Ensure fabric patterns, lines, and stitching are properly aligned.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and finishing.
• Use upholstery tools and machinery safely and correctly.
• Work efficiently to meet production schedules without compromising quality.
• Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
• Work together with carpenters, tailors, foam cutters, and other furniture production staff when required.

Requirements

• Previous professional experience as a Sofa Upholsterer, Furniture Upholsterer, or Upholstery Technician is required.
• Strong experience in sofa manufacturing and upholstery.
• Must know how to upholster furniture from start to finish, not only assist another upholsterer.
• Good knowledge of fabric, leather, foam, webbing, springs, and upholstery materials.
• Ability to measure, cut, fit, stretch, and finish upholstery accurately.
• Experience with modern, contemporary, and custom-made sofas is preferred.
• Must have excellent attention to detail and finishing quality.
• Ability to understand measurements and furniture designs.
• Able to work independently and as part of a furniture production team.
• Physically fit and comfortable performing hands-on work.
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to meet production deadlines.
• UAE furniture manufacturing experience is an advantage.

Important

We are looking for a skilled upholsterer, not an upholstery helper.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous sofa upholstery work and must be confident completing upholstery professionally with a high-quality final finish.

Pay: AED2,200.00 - AED2,800.00 per month
