Job description

Join Ovivo by Ecolab and help deliver high-quality water treatment solutions that make a real impact. As a Construction Engineer, you will be responsible for the assembly and installation of water treatment systems, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution. Working closely with project teams, contractors, and customers, you will contribute to successful project delivery while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Assemble and construct water treatment installations based on technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Install and assemble various components at customer sites, ensuring compliance with Ecolab’s standards.
  • Collaborate with Construction Manager, Warehouse Manager, Project Engineers, and Commissioning Engineers to ensure project success.
  • Advise proactively on design optimizations and contribute to continuous improvement of procedures.
  • Maintain and manage system libraries and proactively contribute ideas for departmental development.
  • Perform installation, assembly, and maintenance tasks, including plastic welding according to DVS guidelines.
  • Ensure proper use of materials, tools, and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain contact with customers during installation and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as timesheets and installation transfer protocols accurately and on time.
  • Lead and supervise subcontractors and freelancers on-site as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards, including VCA guidelines and customer-specific requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Timely and high-quality delivery of products, both electrically and mechanically.
  • Accurate and complete documentation and reporting.
  • Adherence to project timelines, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Proactive identification and resolution of issues, reporting deviations to management.
  • No direct budget authority; escalate planning or procedural changes to the Construction Manager or Project Engineer.

What You Bring

  • MBO level 4 education or equivalent in a technical field.
  • Valid safety certificates (VCA) and driver’s license B.
  • Experience with reading technical and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of material properties and processing techniques.
  • Proficiency in Dutch (spoken and written); English is a plus.
  • Skills in plastic welding (DVS/IR) – training on the job possible.
  • Familiarity with NEN3140 standards.
  • Strong communication, accuracy, customer focus, quality orientation, analytical ability, stress resistance, flexibility, problem-solving, independence, and prioritization skills.

Employment Details

  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Based in Zoeterwoude, The Netherlands
  • Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally abroad
  • Willingness to stay overnight when required
