Position Overview We are welcoming expressions of interest from outstanding Secondary English Teachers interested in joining GEMS International School – Dubai Hills from August 2027.

We welcome experienced IB educators as well as outstanding teachers from British and other international curricula who are passionate about inquiry-led learning and inspiring confident, curious learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity, critical thinking and a love of learning.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel challenged, supported and empowered.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all students.
• Assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform teaching and learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver the curriculum and share best practice.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities, enrichment opportunities and professional learning.
• Uphold the values of GEMS Education and the IB Learner Profile.

Skills Description Successful Candidate

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification at degree level, such as a B.Ed, PGCE, State Teaching License or equivalent, with a specialism in English.
• Have a minimum of three years' successful experience teaching Secondary English, ideally including IB MYP and/or DP. Where candidates do not have IB experience, A-Level experience is preferred.
• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a commitment to delivering high-quality, inquiry-based and concept-driven learning.
• Be passionate about inspiring a love of language and literature and developing confident, critical and globally minded learners.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration and classroom management skills.
• Bring the vision, energy and commitment to contribute to an innovative, collaborative and diverse international school community.
