Our committed and highly skilled professionals combine sectoral and geographical expertise to deliver flexible, bespoke financing solutions and high-quality execution to clients ranging from oil majors to niche market participants.
Our solutions include:

Purpose of the role
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and grow the Bank’s portfolio of clients within the Oil and Gas segment, in accordance with the CTF team’s origination strategy and the Bank’s compliance and risk appetite frameworks.
You will originate new relationships and actively manage existing and prospective clients within your portfolio under close guidance of your assigned team leader. This will include identifying financing and cross-selling opportunities, optimising the utilisation of approved limits, delivering a high standard of service, contributing relevant market and corporate intelligence, and achieving the operating income targets assigned to you.
Working closely with clients and cross-functional teams across the CTF ecosystem, you will ensure adherence to the Bank’s credit and compliance requirements, proactively identify emerging challenges and take appropriate action to protect the Bank’s interests at all times.
In this role, you will:
Relationship management and business development

- Maintain an active and well structured origination pipeline and regularly discuss prospective relationships, financing opportunities, limit requirements and expected revenues with the assigned Senior People Manager and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Participate actively in the onboarding of new clients and the KYC reviews of existing clients by coordinating with the relevant teams and contributing to a seamless end-to-end process for clients.
- Develop and manage relationships with existing and prospective clients and identify financing and cross-selling opportunities through regular discussions and client meetings, alongside the relevant internal stakeholders.
- Understand clients’ requirements and work with the relevant internal teams to develop sustainable financing solutions that address those requirements while remaining within the Bank’s established risk frameworks.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the relevant Oil and Gas markets, the business models of clients and their respective market positions.
- Dynamically assess the potential impact of market, commodity price, economic, geopolitical and regulatory developments on clients and their exposures with the Bank.
- Proactively report material developments and emerging concerns to the assigned Senior People Manager and other relevant stakeholders, and contribute to the identification and implementation of appropriate measures to consolidate and ring-fence the Bank’s position in adverse scenarios.
- Contribute relevant market, sectoral, competitor and corporate intelligence to support the team’s origination strategy, portfolio management and decision-making.
Credit facilities and transaction structuring
- Understand and analyse clients’ business models, underlying trade flows, financing requirements and markets to identify suitable financing opportunities.
- Structure and negotiate new credit facilities and transactions, including the associated collateral, security and pricing propositions, in collaboration with Credit Analysts, Relationship Executives, Collateral Management and other relevant teams.
- Ensure that proposed structures appropriately address the underlying credit, market, price, operational, legal and compliance risks and are consistent with the Bank’s risk appetite and approved credit parameters.
- Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive and well-supported credit applications together with the Credit Analysts, including the review of the financial analysis of borrowers, guarantors and relevant counterparties.
- Participate in discussions with Credit Management and present or support the presentation of credit requests to the relevant Credit Committees, under the guidance of the assigned Senior People Manager where appropriate.
- Respond to questions and requests for additional information from Credit Management and the relevant Credit Committees, in coordination with the Credit Analysts and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate the execution and receipt of the legal and security documentation required for approved facilities.
- Follow up on the timely fulfilment of conditions precedent, conditions subsequent and covenants, where applicable.
- Monitor and meet the deadlines for annual credit reviews and proactively coordinate amendments, waivers and other changes to facilities, as required.
- Maintain well-organised, complete and up-to-date credit files and client records, ensuring that key decisions, approvals, deviations and supporting considerations are appropriately documented and auditable.
Transaction and portfolio management
- Monitor utilisation levels across the assigned portfolio and take appropriate action to optimise the use of approved limits, maximise the Bank’s revenues and support the efficient allocation of capital.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of clients, live transactions and exposures within the assigned portfolio.
- Ensure that transactions submitted by clients are handled in a timely and efficient manner by coordinating closely with the relevant internal teams and promoting a seamless and high-quality service experience.
- Understand and analyse the credit, market, price, operational, legal and compliance risks inherent in each transaction.
- Engage with clients and collaborate with the relevant internal stakeholders to identify appropriate mitigants for material transaction risks, in accordance with the approved terms and conditions.
- Ensure that transactions comply with the Bank’s credit, compliance and operational requirements before their execution.
- Proactively identify transactions that involve deviations from approved terms, excesses over approved limits or other material exceptions, and escalate them to the assigned Senior People Manager and the relevant stakeholders.
- Seek the necessary approvals from the appropriate authorities or Credit Committees for acceptable deviations, amendments or excesses, prior to execution wherever required.
- Collaborate closely with Middle Office, Back Office, Credit Risk, Compliance, Legal, Credit Analysis and Collateral Management to address issues relating to trade finance facilities, transactions and documentation.
- Monitor portfolio concentrations, excesses, overdue items, covenant compliance and early warning indicators, and escalate material developments promptly.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of remedial measures where weaknesses, operational concerns or adverse developments are identified.
- Monitor the profitability and overall risk-return dynamics of the assigned relationships and transactions and contribute to appropriate measures to improve portfolio performance.

- Manage client relationships in a manner consistent with the Bank’s values, conduct standards and reputational risk considerations.
Revenue generation and cross-selling
- Achieve the operating income and other performance targets assigned for each financial year in an efficient, sustainable and risk-conscious manner.
- Identify opportunities to offer the Bank’s broader range of products and services to clients, in collaboration with the relevant product and business teams.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the client’s banking and financing requirements to increase the Bank’s share of the client’s activities where commercially and strategically appropriate.
- Monitor the revenue contribution, utilisation and profitability of assigned relationships and discuss performance and proposed actions with the assigned Team Leader.
