Job Role: Fire Alarm Technician
Experience: 5+years
Location: Dubai
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Fire Alarm Technician responsible for installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fire alarm and life-safety systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test, and commission fire alarm systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of fire alarm equipment.
- Troubleshoot faults in fire alarm control panels, detectors, modules, sounders, MCPs, and notification devices.
- Conduct testing of smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual call points, hooters/sirens, strobes, and other field devices.
- Read and interpret fire alarm drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Perform cable termination, loop testing, continuity testing, and fault identification.
- Configure and troubleshoot addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
- Interface fire alarm systems with HVAC, access control, elevators, BMS, and other building systems where required.
- Maintain service reports, inspection records, testing documentation, and maintenance logs.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and resolve system faults within the required timeframe.
- Follow applicable fire safety standards, site safety procedures, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and clients during installation and commissioning activities.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with Fire Alarm Systems (FAS).
- Knowledge of addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
- Experience with fire alarm panels, detectors, MCPs, modules, sounders, strobes, and batteries.
- Good knowledge of electrical wiring, cabling, termination, and testing.
- Ability to read electrical/fire alarm drawings.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Basic knowledge of fire safety codes and standards.
- Ability to use tools such as multimeter and other electrical testing equipment.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Fire & Safety, or a related field.
- Relevant fire alarm system certification will be an advantage.
