The ZEISS Innovation Hub @KIT fosters collaboration between students, researchers, and industry professionals to drive technological advancements.

Your Role

Integrated into a team of scientists and research engineers, you will work on research projects in surgical robotics.

Developing concepts for surgical 3D scene understanding and computer-assisted surgery, with a focus on 4D Gaussian Splatting, stereo and surface reconstruction, and multimodal sensor fusion

Evaluating concepts on curated datasets and in own lab experiment settings

Presenting and discussing research findings in team and department meetings

Working with researchers and engineers in a collaborative environment at the ZEISS Innovation Hub Karlsruhe, located at the KIT Campus North

Your Profile

Enrolled in a master's degree program in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related field

Solid foundation in deep learning for computer vision (e.g. semantic segmentation, object tracking, or related areas), ideally with practical programming experience in Python

Strong interest in developing innovative solutions for computer-assisted surgery

An open mindset, a hands-on approach, and a passion for working in agile, interdisciplinary teams

Good communication skills in English and/or German.

Ideally some experience working with 4D Gaussian Splatting, NeRFs, or 3D reconstruction
