Open Banking Integration Developer

A reputable financial technology company is seeking a high-caliber Open Banking Integration Developer to own the secure connections between its platform and partner banks, building microservices under mTLS and OAuth2 in line with local Open Banking standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend microservices exposing Open Banking APIs
• Write clean, testable, production-grade code for every integration
• Maintain technical documentation for each microservice built
• Implement mTLS and OAuth2 for all financial-grade API connections
• Manage certificate lifecycle and token security across integrations
• Monitor for authentication failures and resolve them promptly
• Integrate with partner banks and third-party providers under local Open Banking standards
• Troubleshoot integration failures and connectivity issues as they arise
• Coordinate with partner technical teams to resolve integration mismatches
• Write and run unit and integration tests for all API endpoints
• Confirm each integration meets Open Banking security and data-sharing standards before release
• Support internal audits of integration security posture

Role Requirements Experience & Background

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 4–6 years in backend development, including at least two years building or integrating Open Banking or financial-grade APIs
• Hands-on experience implementing mTLS and OAuth2 in a production environment is required
• Hands-on experience integrating with banks or third-party providers under a regulatory Open Banking framework

Functional & Technical Skills

• Proficiency in a backend language such as Java, Node.js, Python or .NET
• Strong understanding of REST/JSON APIs and certificate-based authentication
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
• Ability to read partner API documentation and resolve integration mismatches independently

Expert in Tools

• Git and Postman for development and testing
• API gateway platforms such as Kong or Apigee
• Jira for delivery tracking
• Confluence for technical documentation

Soft Skills & Culture

• Very good English and Arabic
• Work carefully and systematically, especially when handling security-related tasks
• Collaborate effectively with product, compliance, and technical partner teams

Nice to Have

• Experience with the FAPI (Financial-grade API) security profile
• Prior Open Banking project experience in the GCC, UK or EU markets
• AWS or Azure certification
• Familiarity with ISO 20022
• Experience working in a startup or scale-up delivery environment where processes are still being built
