Job description

Akkodis is hiring for a senior full-stack software engineering role based in Abu Dhabi, UAE focused on transforming complex numerical, scientific, and simulation models into scalable, commercial-grade software products.

The position demands a seasoned engineer with 7+ years of experience who brings deep Python expertise, full-stack capability, hands-on CI/CD ownership, and a solid foundation in physics-based or scientific computing to bridge the gap between engineering algorithms and robust production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Architecture: Scale and modernize full-stack applications into robust, commercial-grade products for external clients.
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Own automated deployment pipelines, regression testing suites, and containerized releases for restricted or offline environments.
  • Core Numerical Tooling: Package complex mathematical, modeling, and simulation algorithms into clean, reusable libraries with stable APIs.
  • Data & Hardware Integration: Build reliable data pipelines to ingest engineering test data (such as HDF5 or TDMS) and integrate with real-time hardware systems.
  • Quality & Innovation: Lead technical code reviews, enforce design and security standards, and contribute to technical publications.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 7+ years building and shipping production-grade software.
  • Tech Stack: Strong Python proficiency; comfort around C/C++, MATLAB, or Fortran is a plus.
  • Full-Stack Proficiency: Hands-on experience with backend frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Node.js, .NET) and modern frontend tools (React, Angular).
  • Domain Background: Experience working with scientific computing, simulation, or numerical software (Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, or Quantitative Finance).
  • Infrastructure: Solid ownership of CI/CD, Git, Docker/containers, and Linux environments.
  • Engineering Acumen: Strong understanding of numerical literacy, unit systems, tolerance-based testing, and physics models.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with offline/air-gapped deployments or commercial software packaging.
  • Familiarity with real-time embedded systems, turbomachinery, flight mechanics, or test-and-measurement workflows.
