Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai.

The ideal candidate will hold a recognized American Board Certification or UK CCT in Emergency Medicine and have strong experience managing a broad range of acute and emergency medical conditions in a high-volume emergency department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level emergency medical care to adult and, where applicable, pediatric patients.
  • Conduct rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment of patients presenting with acute and life-threatening conditions.
  • Manage medical, surgical, traumatic, and critical emergency presentations.
  • Perform and supervise emergency procedures, including:
    • Advanced airway management and intubation
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
    • Procedural sedation
    • Central and arterial line placement
    • Chest tube insertion
    • Point-of-care ultrasound
    • Wound management and suturing
    • Fracture and dislocation management
  • Lead and participate in resuscitation and trauma management.
  • Manage patients with acute cardiac, neurological, respiratory, abdominal, infectious, and toxicological emergencies.
  • Provide appropriate triage, stabilization, referral, admission, and discharge planning.
  • Coordinate care with specialists, intensivists, surgeons, and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Participate in emergency response, code blue, trauma, and other hospital-wide emergency protocols.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation, clinical handover, and follow-up arrangements.
  • Promote patient safety and adherence to emergency department protocols.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, teaching, research, and continuing medical education.
  • Supervise and mentor emergency physicians, residents, and junior medical staff where required.

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS, MD, MBChB, or equivalent medical degree.
  • American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine OR
  • UK CCT in Emergency Medicine.
  • Valid UAE professional license or eligibility for licensing in Dubai.
  • Good professional standing with the relevant medical licensing authority.

Experience

  • Consultant-level experience in Emergency Medicine.
  • Strong experience in a high-volume emergency department or tertiary-care hospital.
  • Demonstrated expertise in resuscitation, trauma, acute medical emergencies, and emergency procedures.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary emergency and resuscitation teams is highly desirable.
