About the Role

Small Steps Learning Difficulties Centre is looking for a passionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Dubai.

The successful candidate will provide assessment and individualized occupational therapy interventions to children with developmental, sensory, motor, and functional needs. The role involves working closely with children, families, and other professionals to support each child’s development, independence, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop individualized therapy plans.
• Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to support children’s development and independence.
• Address fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, activities of daily living (ADLs), handwriting, visual-motor skills, coordination, balance, motor planning, play, and social participation.
• Monitor and document client progress and update therapy goals accordingly.
• Collaborate with ABA Therapists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, Teachers, and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide parents and caregivers with practical strategies to support children’s development at home.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, and reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to individualized care planning.
• Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and professional standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
• Valid DHA Licence or DHA Eligibility is required.
• Experience working with children in a pediatric, clinical, therapy, special education, or developmental setting.
• Experience working with children with ASD, developmental delays, sensory processing difficulties, or other additional needs is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based occupational therapy practices.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate, patient, and child-centred approach.
• Candidates on their own visa are preferred.
