Part-Time Psychiatrist – University Clinic

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric consultations and assessments for young adult students referred by the school clinic, counselors, or parents
• Diagnose and manage mental health conditions common in adolescence and young adulthood (e.g., anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, stress-related conditions, eating disorders, substance-related concerns)
• Develop and monitor treatment plans, including medication management where clinically indicated
• Coordinate with school counselors, nurses, and academic staff on student care plans
• Support students transitioning into greater independence (e.g., exam stress, university/career pressure, identity and social issues)
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with DHA and school policy
• Provide referrals to external specialists or facilities when needed
• Contribute to mental health awareness initiatives for the student body, as needed
• Ensure all practice is compliant with DHA regulations and school safeguarding policies

Requirements

• Valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license to practice as a Psychiatrist — mandatory
• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization/residency in Psychiatry
• Board certification/postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry (e.g., MD Psychiatry, MRCPsych, or equivalent)
• Experience with adolescents and young adults strongly preferred
• Prior experience in a school, university clinic, or educational healthcare setting is an advantage
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively with young adults, parents, and school staff
• Understanding of confidentiality requirements and safeguarding principles as they apply to young adults (including where students may be legal minors and where they may not be)
• Fluency in English required; Arabic language skills a plus

Pay: AED1.00 per month
