Accounting Manager - Building Materials

Antal is partnering with a Leading façade engineering company with operations across the Middle East, Europe, and North America looking to hire a Accounting Manager | Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Salary - 22,000 AED to 24,000 AED + Benefits + Bonus

Job Purpose

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing accounting operations while remaining hands-on in key financial activities, ensuring accurate records, compliance with regulations, and timely financial closing.

1. Accounting Operations

General Ledger & Closing

• Oversee and manage accounting operations including GL, AP/AR, and payroll.
• Post and review journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review consolidated ledgers and preliminary financial reports.

Cash & Expense Management

• Monitor cash flow and bank reconciliations.
• Track expenses against budgets and highlight variances.
• Support budgeting processes and provide accurate financial data.

2. Compliance & Tax

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure audit readiness.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and ensure proper procedures.
• Identify financial risks, discrepancies, and delays.

Tax Management

• Review Corporate Tax and VAT returns prior to submission to tax advisors.
• Coordinate with tax advisors on all corporate tax and VAT matters.

3. Cross-Departmental Coordination

Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial inputs across all departments:

• Delivery Team — man-hours and site expenses.
• Factory Team — fabrication hours.
• Engineering Team — timesheets.
• Procurement Team — open purchase orders.
• QS Team — monthly sales.
• HR Team — payroll and PRO expenses.

4. Team Management & Reporting

Team Supervision

• Supervise accounting team including AP/AR and payroll functions.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the team.
• Collaborate with all departments to support financial alignment.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

• Provide financial data and analysis to support decision-making.
• Assist in forecasting and financial planning inputs.
• Ensure accuracy of financial data used for KPIs and reporting.

5. Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Oversee accounting systems and ensure data integrity.
• Support ERP implementation and continuous system improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in contracting or construction.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proven team management experience.
