Company Description UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), established in 1964, promotes the integration of developing countries into the global economy in ways that support sustainable development. Role Description: These are full-time, on-site internships based in Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on sustainable ports and shipping and supply chain resilience. Interns will contribute to one or both of the following streams:
🔹 Modelling and data analysis: collecting and managing data; conducting quantitative analysis and modelling; and preparing statistics, visualizations and analytical inputs.
🔹 Project and programme assistance: supporting project planning and implementation, budgets, reporting, invitations, event organization, communications, and the review and editing of reports.
The work will support technical cooperation projects and major events, including the Global Supply Chain Forum 2026 .
The roles involve close collaboration with UNCTAD staff, requiring proactive communication, attention to detail, and an interest in sustainable trade logistics and freight transport systems.
Profiles sought:
We are particularly interested in:
▪️ Quantitative profiles with strong skills in economics, statistics, data analysis or modelling;
▪️ Project-support profiles with strong organizational, drafting, editing, communication and coordination skills; or
▪️ Candidates combining quantitative and project-management capabilities.

Knowledge of transport, maritime trade, logistics or supply chains would be a strong advantage.
▪️
Ongoing or completed studies in economics, statistics, data science, transport, logistics, international trade, or a related field.
▪️
Capacity to work in a diverse, international environment, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
▪️
Interest in maritime transport, supply chain resilience, sustainable development, and multilateral cooperation.
▪️
Familiarity with the work of the United Nations or other international organizations is an asset

andidates must meet the United Nations internship eligibility requirements enumerated in the Vacancy Announcement.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French is an asset.
The internships are full-time (40 hours/5 days per week) for 3 months, with the possibility of extension for up to 3 months. They may be undertaken remotely or in person in Geneva.
