Process Engineer (Large Molecules)

Our client is seeking a Process Engineer / Operations Engineer to join its Operations Engineering team and support the construction and commissioning of a new facility.

This role combines operational and project engineering responsibilities, with a focus on process optimization, utility systems, and supporting complex pharmaceutical and biotechnological manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and optimize process engineering solutions within pharmaceutical and biotechnological production facilities.
• Support the construction, commissioning, and operational readiness of new utility and manufacturing infrastructure.
• Ensure project delivery in line with agreed timelines, budgets, and technical objectives.
• Maintain compliance with cGMP requirements across operational engineering activities and investment projects.
• Provide technical support for complex chemical and biotechnological manufacturing plants.
• Lead and support plant optimization and modification initiatives to improve performance and reliability.
• Manage investment projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initial concept and design through execution and handover to operations.
• Support active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) production processes, including both batch and continuous manufacturing.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams in an interdisciplinary engineering environment.

Must-Haves:

• University degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent qualification.
• 2-5 + years of experience in Drug Substance and Large Molecules
• Initial professional experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or GMP-regulated industry.
• Strong general IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft and Google applications.
• Fluent German and good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Positive, proactive, and team-oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with ultrapure media, steam, and energy systems.
• Process engineering expertise related to utility systems.
• Knowledge of system design, including pumps and heat exchangers.
