Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Interventional Musculoskeletal Radiologist to join a leading healthcare organization in Dubai.

The successful candidate will have advanced expertise in musculoskeletal imaging and image-guided interventions, providing accurate diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment for a broad range of orthopedic, sports medicine, rheumatologic, and pain-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level interpretation of advanced musculoskeletal imaging, including:
    • MRI
    • CT
    • Ultrasound
    • X-ray and radiography
  • Perform and interpret specialized MSK imaging examinations.
  • Perform ultrasound- and image-guided minimally invasive procedures, including:
    • Joint injections and aspirations
    • Periarticular injections
    • Tendon sheath and bursal injections
    • Ultrasound-guided soft-tissue procedures
    • Image-guided biopsies
    • Ganglion and cyst aspirations
    • Calcific tendinopathy procedures where appropriately trained
  • Perform advanced interventional procedures such as radiofrequency ablation, hydrodissection, or other pain-management interventions, where appropriately trained and credentialed.
  • Provide image-guided procedures for sports injuries and degenerative musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons, sports medicine physicians, rheumatologists, physiatrists, pain specialists, and physiotherapists.
  • Correlate imaging findings with clinical history and examination to provide clinically relevant reports.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to complex case discussions.
  • Provide appropriate procedural counselling, obtain informed consent, and ensure patient safety.
  • Monitor patients following procedures and manage or appropriately refer any complications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely radiology reports and procedure documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance, peer review, clinical audit, research, and continuing medical education.
  • Support teaching and mentoring of junior radiologists and radiology trainees.

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS, MBChB, MD, or equivalent medical degree.
  • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Diagnostic Radiology / Radiology.
  • Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Musculoskeletal Radiology is highly desirable.
  • Additional training or fellowship in Interventional MSK Radiology is preferred.
  • Recognized Board Certification or equivalent specialist qualification.
  • Valid UAE professional license or eligibility for licensing in Dubai.

Experience

  • Significant post-specialty experience at Consultant level in MSK Radiology.
  • Strong experience in advanced MSK MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radiographic interpretation.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with image-guided MSK interventions.
  • Experience performing ultrasound-guided and fluoroscopy/CT-guided procedures.
  • Experience in sports medicine, orthopedic, rheumatology, or pain-related imaging is advantageous.
  • Experience working within a tertiary hospital or advanced imaging centre is preferred.
