SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect / Architectural Engineer to join our project team for a high-rise building project in Dubai.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supervising architectural works from construction through completion, ensuring that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, design requirements, and the approved construction schedule.

The role requires strong experience in high-rise building construction, architectural coordination, finishing works, consultant coordination, subcontractor management, and site execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise architectural works for the high-rise building project from construction through completion and handover.
• Review and coordinate architectural drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Ensure architectural works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, approved materials, and project requirements.
• Coordinate architectural works with structural, MEP, façade, interior, and other project disciplines.
• Supervise and monitor subcontractors' architectural and finishing works, including manpower, materials, productivity, and workmanship.
• Monitor major architectural activities including blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, screeding, tiling, flooring, ceilings, doors, joinery, painting, façade interfaces, and other finishing works.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, dimensions, levels, alignment, and workmanship comply with approved requirements.
• Coordinate with the QA/QC team for inspections, approvals, and rectification of non-conforming works.
• Prepare and follow up on Inspection Requests (IR), Material Inspection Requests (MIR), RFIs, technical queries, and other project documentation.
• Review architectural details and identify discrepancies, design conflicts, and constructability issues before and during execution.
• Coordinate with consultants, designers, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to resolve technical and site-related issues.
• Monitor architectural work progress against the approved project schedule and ensure activities are completed within the required timeframe.
• Assist in planning and sequencing architectural and finishing works to maintain project progress.
• Review material samples and mock-ups and ensure approved materials are properly implemented on site.
• Monitor and control the quality of architectural finishes and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate mock-ups, inspections, testing, snagging, and final acceptance of architectural works.
• Monitor and close out snagging and de-snagging activities prior to handover.
• Review and coordinate as-built drawings and architectural documentation.
• Assist in preparation and review of handover documents, O&M documentation, warranties, and completion records.
• Attend technical, coordination, progress, and site meetings with the consultant, client, subcontractors, and project management team.
• Provide technical guidance and support to architects, engineers, supervisors, and site teams.
• Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and safe working practices.
• Ensure architectural works comply with applicable Dubai/UAE regulations, authority requirements, project specifications, and approved design standards.
• Report progress, technical issues, delays, and potential risks to the Project/Construction Manager.
• Perform other duties related to architectural construction and project execution as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant architectural construction experience, preferably with major high-rise building projects.
• Strong UAE/Dubai high-rise building construction experience is highly preferred.
• Proven experience working with main contractors, consultants, and specialist subcontractors.
• Strong experience in architectural finishing and site execution.
• Good knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, materials, and architectural details.
• Experience in consultant inspections, approvals, RFIs, material submittals, shop drawings, and project documentation.
• Experience in high-quality finishing works and large-scale residential, commercial, hotel, or mixed-use developments.
• Familiarity with relevant Dubai Municipality and UAE construction requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit and other BIM software is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction quality requirements.
• Good knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.
