JOB DESCRIPTION – CIVIL TEAM LEADER

Job Purpose
The Civil Team Leader is responsible for leading and coordinating daily civil maintenance and repair activities across SOBH Group properties and facilities. The role ensures that all civil works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to required quality and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily activities of carpenters, masons, painters, helpers, and other civil maintenance personnel.
• Allocate daily work assignments and monitor the quality and timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Carry out and supervise civil preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance works.
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and facilities to identify civil defects and maintenance requirements.
• Supervise masonry, plastering, blockwork, tiling, painting, waterproofing, carpentry, ceiling, gypsum, and minor concrete repair works.
• Monitor repairs to doors, windows, locks, flooring, walls, ceilings, and other building finishes.
• Identify defects and recommend appropriate repair or rectification methods.
• Ensure work orders and maintenance requests are completed within the required timeframe.
• Verify the quality of completed civil works before reporting jobs as completed.
• Estimate and report requirements for materials, tools, equipment, and manpower for assigned works.
• Ensure proper use and safekeeping of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, productivity, discipline, uniform, and work performance.
• Conduct toolbox talks and provide on-the-job guidance to team members.
• Ensure compliance with SOBH Group HSE policies, permit-to-work procedures, and safe working practices.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety of work areas before, during, and after maintenance activities.
• Maintain daily work records, inspection checklists, material records, and other required FM documentation.
• Report major structural or civil defects to the Hard Services Supervisor/FM Engineer for further assessment.
• Coordinate with MEP, Soft Services, and other FM teams when civil works affect other building services.
• Assist contractors and specialist service providers during major civil repair and maintenance works.
• Perform other related Facilities Management duties as assigned by the Supervisor or management.

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI, Trade Certificate, Diploma in Civil Engineering/Construction, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in civil/building maintenance.
• Previous experience as a Civil Team Leader, Civil Foreman, or Senior Civil Technician is preferred.
• Good practical knowledge of masonry, painting, carpentry, tiling, waterproofing, gypsum, plastering, and general building repairs.
• Ability to identify building defects and supervise appropriate repair works.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements and safe working procedures.
• Ability to lead and coordinate civil maintenance personnel effectively.
• Good communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer and maintenance reporting skills are an advantage.

Pay: AED3,300.00 - AED3,500.00 per month
