Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Certified Event Rigger to join our production team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe installation, operation, and dismantling of all overhead rigging systems, truss structures, hoists, and equipment used in live events, concerts, corporate productions, and exhibitions. You will ensure all rigging operations comply with industry standards, engineering specifications, and local safety regulations.Key Responsibilities
- Rigging Installation: Assemble, install, and position rigging equipment, including trusses, chain hoists, motors, spansets, shackles, and steel cables according to plot plans.
- Safety & Compliance: Conduct thorough pre-rigging inspections of all gear, calculate load weights and distribution, and strictly enforce OSHA, ANSI, and local venue safety standards.
- Collaboration: Review technical riders, blueprints, and rigging plots alongside structural engineers, lighting designers, and audio heads to ensure structural feasibility.
- On-Site Operation: Safely fly and land audio, video, lighting, and scenic elements during load-ins, show runs, and strikes.
- Maintenance & Inventory: Maintain, log, and inspect the inventory of rigging equipment, identifying and retiring any damaged or compromised gear.
- Ground & High Rigging: Perform duties both as a ground rigger (attaching loads and guiding builds) and an up-rigger (working at heights to secure points to the venue structure).
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Valid and recognized industry certification, such as ETCP (Entertainment Technician Certification Program) Certified Rigger - Arena/Theatre, or regional equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of professional rigging experience specifically in the live events, touring, or entertainment industry.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work comfortably at extreme heights, climb structures, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of load calculations, bridle angles, vector forces, and rigging hardware ratings.
- Adaptability: Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in fast-paced event environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid aerial lift (scissor/boom lift) and forklift operator certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in structural engineering or theater technology is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset under high-pressure scenarios.
Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
