Steel Fabricator

We are looking for an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our workshop. The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of steel fabrication, fitting and assembly and be able to work accurately from engineering drawings.

The candidate should understand proper fabrication methods and best practices for measuring, marking, cutting, fitting and assembling steel components to achieve accurate finished dimensions.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and understand engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Measure, mark and prepare materials accurately according to drawings.
• Cut, fit and assemble structural and fabricated steel components.
• Carry out fabrication using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Ensure components are correctly aligned, levelled, squared and dimensionally accurate before welding.
• Understand fabrication sequences and use appropriate methods to minimize distortion and dimensional errors.
• Check dimensions, angles, levels and alignment throughout the fabrication process.
• Identify drawing or fabrication issues and communicate them to the Production Head or supervisor.
• Work closely with welders and other workshop personnel to ensure proper assembly and completion of jobs.
• Follow good fabrication practices and maintain quality standards.
• Inspect completed work to ensure it meets drawing requirements before proceeding to the next stage.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area and follow workshop safety procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in steel fabrication and fitting.
• Strong practical knowledge of steel fabrication and assembly.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of measuring, marking and setting-out techniques.
• Understanding of fabrication tolerances, alignment, squareness and dimensional accuracy.
• Knowledge of proper fabrication sequence and methods to control distortion.
• Ability to independently fabricate and assemble components based on drawings.
• Familiarity with common fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
• Ability to work independently as well as as part of a production team.

The ability to identify potential fabrication problems before they become costly mistakes is highly valued.

Pay: AED200.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
