Job description
The Opportunity:
The Senior Business & Commercial Strategy Analyst – PEM will support the development and implementation of key strategic and commercial initiatives across the PEM region (Pan- European Market)
Working closely with the VP & Head of PEM Europe, the PEM Leadership Team, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout PEM countries, this person will provide project management, strategic analysis, executive communication, and implementation support.
The role will manage a broad portfolio of PEM-focused initiatives, including regional strategy, commercial performance, organizational priorities, and longer-term transformation projects.
As Senior Business Strategy Analyst, Commercial Strategy & Operations, you will partner with the PEM Leadership Team to analyze complex business challenges, develop actionable insights, and support effective decision-making and organizational change.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping both the short- and long-term direction of the PEM organization, connecting regional priorities with country-level execution and working across functions to galvanize the PEM strategic agenda.
What Your Impact Will Be:
PEM Strategic Planning & Project Delivery

Partner with PEM regional, country, and functional leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives across the PEM region.

Provide data-driven analysis, stakeholder engagement, and implementation support for recommendations that advance PEM priorities.

Lead the planning, coordination, and governance of PEM strategic projects, ensuring timely delivery, effective tracking, and successful execution.

Help translate the PEM regional strategy into clear priorities, actions, and deliverables across countries and functions.

Monitor progress against agreed milestones, identify risks and dependencies, and support timely resolution of issues.
Executive Communications & Decision Support

Develop executive-level presentations, business cases, briefing materials, and executive summaries for the VP & Head of PEM Europe and the PEM Leadership Team.

Translate complex commercial, strategic, and market information into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.

Prepare materials for PEM business plans, commercial reviews, functional reviews, leadership off-sites, town halls, and other regional strategic forums.

Support leadership decision-making by ensuring that key information, options, risks, and recommendations are communicated clearly and effectively.
PEM Business Insights & Strategic Analysis

Develop a strong understanding of the PEM region, including its markets, customers, consumers, competitors, and commercial dynamics.

Analyze performance across PEM countries to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas requiring leadership attention.

Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to support PEM strategic planning and commercial decision-making.

Conduct business analysis and synthesize findings into clear implications and recommendations for the PEM Leadership Team.

Use internal and external data sources to evaluate business performance, market developments, and strategic opportunities.
Stakeholder & Leadership Support

Build strong relationships across PEM countries and functions to facilitate collaboration, information sharing, and alignment.

Partner with the PEM Leadership Team to coordinate regional strategic initiatives, monitor key milestones, and ensure effective follow-through on agreed actions.

Connect regional priorities with country-level execution, helping to identify dependencies, resolve issues, and maintain momentum.

Coordinate executive engagements across the PEM region, ensuring alignment of stakeholders, materials, objectives, and logistics.

Support effective governance and communication across regional and country leadership teams.
AI-Enabled Ways of Working

Use AI-enabled tools to improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of business analysis, research, presentation development, project management, and executive communication.

Identify responsible applications of AI and automation that can simplify ways of working, enhance decision-making, and improve execution across the PEM organization.
-
Apply sound judgment when using AI-generated outputs, ensuring that information is validated, accurate, relevant, and appropriate for its intended audience.

Follow applicable data privacy, confidentiality, security, and responsible-use standards when using AI-enabled tools.
What We’re Looking For:
-
4+ years of experience in management consulting, commercial strategy, business strategy, business insights, or a similar strategic role.
-
Experience working in a regional, multi-country, or international business environment would be highly advantageous.

Strong strategic thinking, with the ability to analyze markets, commercial performance, and complex business issues and translate findings into clear conclusions and recommendations.
-
Demonstrated project management experience across cross-functional and multi-market strategic initiatives.
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear, compelling presentations and executive-level materials.
-
Advanced PowerPoint and Excel capabilities, with experience building executive presentations and conducting detailed business analysis.

Confident using AI-enabled tools to support analysis, research, presentation development, project management, and productivity.
-
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools responsibly, including validating outputs, exercising sound judgment, and protecting confidential and sensitive information.

Curiosity and a proactive mindset toward identifying practical applications of AI and automation that improve business processes and ways of working.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify insights, implications, risks, and opportunities from quantitative and qualitative information.

Confidence working and communicating with stakeholders at different levels of the organization, including senior leadership.

Highly organized, adaptable, and capable of working independently across multiple priorities.

Comfortable operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to complex or evolving business questions.

Able to adapt quickly to changing PEM business needs and leadership requests.

Demonstrated discretion when managing confidential or sensitive information, discussions, and meetings.
-
Degree-level education, or an equivalent qualification, in a relevant discipline such as Business, Finance, Management, Economics, or a related field.
What We Offer:

Gross annual salary range of EUR 68,720 - EUR 81,605.

Bonus scheme: Participation in Mattel Incentive Plan (MIP) with the target of 7.5% of base salary, payout is determined by company and individual performance results
