Job Description:

Position Summary

The General Procurement (GP) spend in the Region is about 80 million EUR. The Strategic Buyer reports to the Head of (HO) General Procurement APAC and ensures full compliance with procurement processes. This role covers indirect procurement activities in Singapore across all divisions under the 'One Roof' concept, including local sourcing, operations, and regional strategy contribution. The primary objective is to achieve optimal cost savings while ensuring a high-quality, sustainable supply base that aligns with Airbus's sustainability vision.

This includes driving the strategic relationships, contracting, and performance reviews.

He/she is also responsible for initiating, implementing and managing projects for General Procurement (GP) that are already defined and to be defined to support continuous improvement in procurement.

Responsibilities

Strategic Buyer Responsibilities

Manage Request for Quotation (RFQs), including validation and issuance of Purchase Orders (POs).

Manage end-to-end sourcing projects including call for tenders and transnational projects, following GP processes to negotiate terms, ensure optimal conditions, and oversee contract management.

Draft and negotiate contracts to mitigate risks and ensure optimal conditions throughout the supplier life cycle.

Act as a strategic partner to internal customers to lead MFT (Multi Functional Team) to implement the procurement strategy,  proactive stakeholder engagement, and performance reviews to align with business needs.

Manage the relationships with suppliers and execute projects to optimize customer value, while minimizing total cost of ownership and risks.

Drive local/regional sourcing initiatives and saving and other procurement report metrics using GP tracking tools while ensuring full process compliance and adherence to Airbus Values, Leadership Model  and Code of Conduct.

Act as a Centre of Competence (CoC) to mentor and coach buyers in Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and in other locations, providing operational guidance and best practices.

Support the HO GP APAC in regional change management, strategic execution, and administrative leadership, serving as an escalation point for complex issues.

Carry out any other task as directed by the superior. 

Regional Scope & Project Management Responsibilities

Deputize for the HO General Procurement APAC when delegated or absent.

Drive the sustainability supply chain roadmap implementation for general procurement at regional level, including Human Rights, suppliers code of conduct deployment

Safeguard Airbus’s reputation by ensuring supply chain adherence to sustainability, ethics, compliance, human rights, and the Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC).

Lead the regional implementation and governance of strategic projects (e.g., Project REFINE stream “Supplier Business Performance Review”), tracking progress and reporting to stakeholders for Asia Pacific scope.

Secondary Responsibilities

Other duties reasonably determined from time to time by the Company.

Strategic Buyer Impact: Achieve optimized Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through effective sourcing and contract management, while ensuring 100% compliance with GP processes and audit standards.

Regional Project Governance: Successfully deliver key regional strategic projects (e.g., Project REFINE) on time and to scope, establishing robust regional governance to improve stakeholder satisfaction and cross-country process alignment.

Transformation: Drive successful regional change management, elevate the competency of regional buyers, and champion the implementation of digital procurement processes to enhance operational excellence.

Qualification & Professional Skills

Degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 7 years of experience in procurement

Strong negotiation skills

Good knowledge of contract and contract monitoring experience

Good analytical skills

Good level of competence in Google suite applications, SAP, Coupa, Microsoft Office

Experience working with multiple stakeholders

Entrepreneurial, outcome-oriented and persistent with the ability to operate and drive results independently.
