Senior Financial Controller

Your Mission

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Controller to join our team on a part-time basis (50%). Reporting directly to executive management, your mission is to build and professionalize our controlling function from the ground up across all our entities. In this key role, you will take full ownership of shaping our financial backbone: Steering financial planning and analysis, building automated KPI visibility, and bridging operational accounting with strategic decision-making. Additionally, you will serve as the central liaison to our external accounting partners, ensuring smooth daily operations and seamless year-end closings for our consultancy. 

What You'll Own

Controlling Infrastructure: Design, implement, and professionalize our entire controlling and reporting structures from scratch.

Multi-Entity Management: Oversee, align, and consolidate financial operations and reporting across all three corporate entities (Germany, Switzerland, and Lithuania).

Dashboarding & Reporting: Build and maintain automated dashboards covering key KPIs across all major business areas, defined in close alignment with management, to ensure timely and regular visibility into business performance.

Strategic Sparring: Serve as a trusted advisor to management, providing data-driven input for key financial and strategic decisions.

Daily Financial Operations: Oversee day-to-day accounting tasks, including processing incoming invoices, managing accounts payable/receivable, and executing timely payments.

Accounting Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact and coordinate seamlessly with our external accounting firm (tax advisors/bookkeepers).

Year-End Closings: Manage and accompany the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Jahresabschluss).

Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop comprehensive financial models, forecasting, and budget planning to support strategic decision-making.

Performance Monitoring: Track cash flow, liquidity, and project profitability across all our consultancy operations.

Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvements across finance and administrative functions to increase efficiency and scalability.

What You Bring

Proven track record (3-5+ years) in Financial Controlling, ideally within a consultancy, agency, or tech-driven environment.

A proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to work highly independently in a dynamic boutique consultancy environment.

Solid understanding of accounting principles (e.g., HGB) and hands-on experience accompanying year-end closings in a multi-entity environment.

Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and the confidence to take full ownership of the finance function.

Proficiency in modern financial software (we use Qonto), and advanced Excel skills.

Languages: Business fluency in German is required, along with a strong command of business English.
