Job description

Consultant Governance / Risk Transformation

Location: Amsterdam

Start: ASAP

Duration: Until end of 2026

What you will do

  • Conduct current-state assessments and gap analyses across roles & responsibilities, governance, RTO maturity and the NFR Learning Loop.
  • Gather and analyse information from business, risk management and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Structure and synthesise complex information into clear, evidence-based conclusions.
  • Define and validate target-state governance, roles & responsibilities, RASCIs and collaboration models across the three lines of defence.
  • Review internal requirements, regulatory expectations and relevant industry best practices.
  • Translate requirements and findings into practical recommendations and implementation roadmaps.
  • Develop clear, compelling and data-driven documentation and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions and workshops to validate findings and create alignment.
  • Consider whether proposed solutions are effective and workable in practice.
  • Support communication, training, change and the embedding of new ways of working into BAU.
  • Contribute to the implementation phase following the analysis and design activities.

Who are you?

You are an analytical and structured consultant who is comfortable working with large amounts of information and turning it into a clear and actionable story.

You bring:

  • Experience in financial services, banking or another complex regulated environment.
  • Experience with governance, risk management, regulatory change, audit, operating models or organisational change.
  • Strong analytical and structuring skills.
  • Experience conducting assessments, gap analyses or maturity assessments.
  • Experience defining roles & responsibilities, RACI/RASCI frameworks or governance models.
  • The ability to collect information from multiple stakeholders and synthesise it into objective, evidence-based conclusions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • The ability to work independently and confidently engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A Master’s degree or equivalent working and thinking level.

Your background could include

Experience with EBA, ECB, DNB or similar regulatory environments is highly relevant.

Direct Non-Financial Risk experience is an advantage, but not a strict requirement if you have a strong financial-services, regulatory or audit background and can demonstrate the analytical and structuring capabilities required for the role.
