Accounting Associate

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounting Associate to join our Finance team in Al Ain, UAE.

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to build strong experience across multiple areas of accounting, rather than focusing on only one function. The successful candidate will be involved in day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, AP, AR, inventory-related accounting, reporting, VAT support, and ERP transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and record day-to-day accounting transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Handle and support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities.
• Record and process supplier invoices, customer invoices, receipts, payments, expenses, and other financial transactions.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and reconcile customer, supplier, and other ledger balances.
• Monitor customer and supplier accounts and follow up on outstanding balances and transactions when required.
• Assist with General Ledger (GL) activities and ensure transactions are properly classified and recorded.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, schedules, and accounting reconciliations.
• Support inventory and stock-related accounting activities, including reconciliation between accounting records and inventory records where applicable.
• Handle and maintain petty cash and cash-related transactions with proper supporting documentation.
• Record and monitor company expenses and employee-related financial transactions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure all accounting transactions are accurately entered and maintained in the company's ERP/accounting system.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized financial records and supporting documents.
• Assist with UAE VAT-related accounting documentation and support tax compliance activities.
• Coordinate with Finance, Sales, Warehouse, Procurement, and other departments to obtain the required financial information and documents.
• Review transactions and identify accounting discrepancies, errors, or missing documentation and assist in resolving them.
• Support the Finance Manager and wider Finance team with accounting and reporting requirements.
• Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of practical accounting experience.
• Candidates must be currently residing in the UAE.
• Previous UAE accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Strong practical understanding of general accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience across different accounting functions, including:
• Accounts Payable (AP) / Accounts Receivable (AR) / General Ledger (GL)
• Customer & Supplier Reconciliation / Expenses / Cash & Petty Cash
• Bank Reconciliation
• Inventory Accounting / Financial Reporting
• Practical experience using any ERP or accounting system is required.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with accounting spreadsheets and financial data.
• Basic understanding of UAE VAT and accounting requirements.
• Good command of English, both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting tasks and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness and ability to relocate to and live in Al Ain is essential.
