Accountant

Job Title: Accountant – Gold & Jewellery Industry

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant with experience in accounting, preferably within the gold, jewellery, manufacturing, or trading industry. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring gold and inventory transactions, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily accounting records, ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payment entries.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, and bank reconciliations.
• Record and monitor gold purchases, sales, transfers, wastage, and inventory movements.
• Reconcile physical gold stock with accounting and inventory records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, schedules, and management reports.
• Monitor customer and supplier balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Assist with VAT accounting, VAT returns, and UAE tax compliance.
• Verify purchase invoices, sales invoices, expenses, and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with the production, sales, purchasing, and inventory teams.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure compliance with company accounting policies.
• Support internal and external audits when required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience in gold, jewellery, manufacturing, or trading is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Good understanding of UAE VAT and basic UAE accounting practices.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with gold/jewellery stock reconciliation.
• Knowledge of gold weight, purity, wastage, making charges, and inventory accounting.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• UAE VAT experience.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
