BIM Designer/Modeler (Aluminum/Facade)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced BIM Designer / Modeler to develop, manage, and coordinate detailed BIM models for aluminum and façade systems. The role will support the Design, Engineering, Production, and Project teams by producing accurate 3D models, coordinated drawings, and fabrication details for aluminum, glazing, curtain wall, cladding, windows, doors, and other façade systems.

Key Responsibilities

BIM Modeling & Design Development

• Develop detailed 3D BIM models for aluminum and façade systems, including curtain walls, windows, doors, skylights, louvers, cladding, and glazing systems.
• Create accurate models based on approved architectural drawings, specifications, design intent, and project requirements.
• Develop and maintain parametric families, components, and libraries for aluminum and façade systems.
• Ensure models comply with project BIM standards, naming conventions, and required Level of Development (LOD) .

Design Coordination

• Coordinate BIM models with Architectural, Structural, and MEP disciplines.
• Review drawings and models to identify design discrepancies, clashes, and coordination issues.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and support the resolution of clashes and technical issues.
• Coordinate with Structural Engineers and Façade Designers to ensure the accuracy and constructability of the proposed systems.

Shop & Fabrication Drawings

• Extract and prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings from BIM models.
• Prepare elevations, sections, plans, details, and schedules required for production and site installation.
• Develop detailed drawings for aluminum profiles, mullions, transoms, brackets, anchors, connections, glazing, and other façade components.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate and suitable for factory fabrication and site execution.

Technical Support & Revisions

• Incorporate consultant comments, RFIs, design changes, and site instructions into BIM models and drawings.
• Maintain proper revision control and ensure updated drawings are issued to relevant teams.
• Support the factory and project teams by resolving model and drawing-related technical issues.
• Assist in preparing as-built BIM models and drawings upon project completion.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field .
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in BIM modeling or drafting, preferably within the Aluminum, Façade, Curtain Wall, Glazing, or Cladding industry .
• Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD .
• Experience with Navisworks and other BIM coordination tools is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of aluminum and façade systems, including curtain walls, windows, doors, glazing, and cladding.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and façade drawings.
• Experience in preparing detailed shop and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of BIM standards, coordination procedures, clash detection, and LOD requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• UAE/GCC experience is preferred.
