Civil architect draftsman

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Civil / Architectural Draftsman with a strong background in high-rise building construction. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate architectural and civil shop drawings and coordinating drawings with structural, MEP, and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare architectural and civil shop drawings for high-rise building projects.

Develop plans, elevations, sections, and detailed construction drawings.

Prepare detailed drawings for blockwork, plaster, waterproofing, flooring, ceilings, doors, windows, staircases, and finishing works.

Prepare setting-out, coordination, and builder’s work drawings.

Review IFC drawings, project specifications, BOQ, and consultant requirements.

Coordinate architectural drawings with structural and MEP drawings.

Identify drawing discrepancies and resolve technical or coordination issues with the project team.

Revise drawings according to consultant comments and follow up until approval.

Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, MEP engineers, subcontractors, and site teams.

Visit the site to verify dimensions and ensure drawings reflect actual site conditions.

Prepare as-built drawings based on completed works.

Maintain proper drawing registers, revision records, and submission status.

Support the preparation of RFIs and technical clarifications.

Ensure all drawings meet project specifications, construction standards, and authority requirements.

Complete drawing submissions according to the approved project schedule.

Candidate Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Drafting.

Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience.

UAE experience in building construction is mandatory.

Proven experience in high-rise residential or commercial projects.

Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.

Knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination will be an advantage.

Strong understanding of architectural finishes and civil construction details.

Ability to read and coordinate architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

Ability to prepare detailed shop drawings independently.

Good communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet submission deadlines.

Candidates currently available in the UAE will be preferred.
