  • Execute advanced computerized diagnostics, live parameter logging, and ECM calibrations using diagnostic systems, specifically Caterpillar Electronic Technician (CAT ET) and Jaltest.
  • Supervise major overhauls of diesel engines and power-shift transmissions (CAT, Komatsu, Volvo, etc.) strictly following manufacturer tolerances, torque sequences, and specifications.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and pressure-test hydraulic circuits; adjust main relief and control valves, and calibrate variable-displacement hydraulic pumps in accordance with OEM shop manuals and schematics.
  • Investigate acute field breakdowns across active project sites and dispatch mobile field-service units to execute rapid, sound repairs.
  • Verify Bill of Materials (BOM) and specify exact OEM part numbers to prevent misdiagnoses and eliminate unnecessary component replacements.

  • Enforce workshop HSE regulations, standard lockout/tagout procedures, and safe disposal of waste oil and hazardous materials.
  • Prepare and submit daily maintenance logs, repair turnaround times, and equipment availability reports to the Fleet/Plant Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of hands-on maintenance experience with heavy earthmoving and civil construction machinery within the contracting sector, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or workshop leadership role.
  • Education: Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in Heavy Equipment Mechanics, Automotive/Diesel Technology, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Technical Mastery: Proven proficiency in diagnostic software (CAT ET and Jaltest) and comprehensive capability in interpreting complex hydraulic and electrical schematics.
  • Preferred Certifications: OEM factory-training certificates (Caterpillar, Komatsu, or Volvo) or recognized technical credentials in fluid power and electronic diagnostics.
  • Core Competencies: Firm technical leadership, sound judgment under demanding contracting deadlines, and full working proficiency in English technical terminology and OEM manuals.
