Job summary:
We are seeking a responsible, technically skilled, and security-focused IT & Cyber Security Executive to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, networking, system administration, and cyber security practices.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, monitoring system security, protecting company data, and supporting employees with day-to-day IT requirements. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to IT security.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Hardware & Technical Support
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware
- Diagnose and resolve hardware failures, system issues, and technical problems
- Manage desktops, laptops, monitors, network devices, and other IT equipment
- Perform hardware upgrades, replacements, and preventive maintenance
- Maintain proper records of IT assets and equipment
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for hardware repairs and technical support
- Ensure IT equipment is properly configured and secured
Software & system Administration:
- Install, configure, update, and maintain operating systems and business software
- Manage Windows-based systems, applications, drivers, and security updates
- Troubleshoot software errors, application issues, and system performance problems
- Manage user accounts, permissions, passwords, and access rights
- Monitor software licensing and ensure authorized software is being used
- Maintain regular system updates, patches, and backups
- Support employees with day-to-day software and IT-related issues
Cyber Security:
- Monitor company systems, networks, and devices for potential security threats
- Implement and maintain antivirus, endpoint protection, firewall, and other security solutions
- Ensure computers and servers are protected against malware, ransomware, phishing, and unauthorized access
- Monitor suspicious activities, security alerts, and potential cyber incidents
- Perform regular security checks and vulnerability assessments
- Ensure operating systems and applications are regularly patched and updated
- Implement basic security controls for company devices and user accounts
- Educate employees regarding phishing, password security, email security, and safe internet practices
- Assist in investigating and responding to cyber security incidents
- Maintain confidentiality and security of company data
Network & Infrastructure:
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, routers, switches, and network connections
- Monitor network performance and connectivity
- Assist with firewall configuration and network security
- Manage basic TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and network troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot internet, email, printer, and connectivity-related issues
- Ensure secure access to company networks and systems
Backup & Data Security:
- Maintain regular backups of important company data
- Monitor backup status and troubleshoot backup failures
- Assist in data recovery when required
- Ensure sensitive company information is properly protected
- Implement basic access control and data security procedures
- Maintain secure storage and handling of company IT information
IT Monitoring & Reproting
- Monitor IT systems, computers, network devices, and security tools
- Maintain records of technical issues, incidents, repairs, and resolutions
- Prepare IT maintenance and security reports when required
- Maintain an updated inventory of hardware, software, licenses, and IT assets
- Identify recurring technical or security issues and recommend improvements
- Escalate major technical failures or cyber security incidents to management
IT Policies & Compliance
- Follow and implement company IT security policies and procedures
- Ensure users follow acceptable-use, password, email, and device-security policies
- Maintain proper documentation of IT systems and configurations
- Assist management in improving overall IT security and infrastructure
- Ensure company systems and data are handled securely and confidentially
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or equivalent are preferred
Experience:
- 2–5 years of proven experience in IT support, system administration, network support, or cyber security
- Strong hands-on experience with computer hardware and software troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows operating systems and business applications
- Experience with networking, routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and firewalls
- Experience with antivirus, endpoint security, backups, and system monitoring
- Experience in identifying and handling basic cyber security threats is preferred
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, laptops, desktops, printers, and peripherals
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office
- Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, WAN, and VPN
- Knowledge of routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and firewall configuration
- Knowledge of antivirus and endpoint protection solutions
- Understanding of malware, ransomware, phishing, social engineering, and common cyber attacks
- Knowledge of system patching, updates, backups, and access control
- Basic knowledge of server administration is preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 / cloud-based applications is preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and security issues independently
Cyber Security Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of cyber security principles and best practices
- Ability to identify suspicious emails, phishing attempts, malware, and unauthorized access
- Knowledge of endpoint security and firewall protection
- Understanding of user access management and password security
- Knowledge of vulnerability management and security monitoring is preferred
- Ability to respond to basic security incidents and escalate serious incidents appropriately
