Job description

1. University Preparation & Guidance

  • Develop and implement a structured university and career guidance program for high school students.
  • Guide students in understanding university systems, degree programs, majors, and career pathways.
  • Explain credit-hour systems, degree requirements, course loads, prerequisites, GPA requirements, and graduation requirements.
  • Clarify the difference between credit hours, courses, semesters, and overall degree requirements.
  • Support students in identifying suitable universities based on academic performance, interests, career goals, budget, and preferred location.
  • Provide guidance on university pathways and opportunities across the UAE, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and other relevant destinations.

2. University Applications & Admissions

  • Guide students through the complete university application process, from initial research through final acceptance.
  • Advise students on university admission requirements, including:
  • Academic qualifications and transcripts
  • GPA requirements
  • Subject prerequisites
  • English-language requirements
  • Standardized tests
  • Personal statements
  • Recommendation letters
  • Portfolios, where applicable
  • Interviews and entrance examinations
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of university admission requirements, application procedures, and deadlines.
  • Explain different admission pathways and acceptance criteria to students and parents.
  • Monitor student applications and ensure all required documents are completed and submitted accurately and on time.

3. Student Academic & Career Planning

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions to assess students’ academic strengths, interests, career aspirations, and university goals.
  • Develop individualized university preparation and career planning strategies.
  • Advise students on appropriate high school subject selection based on their intended university major and career pathway.
  • Identify academic gaps that may affect university admission and recommend appropriate actions or support.
  • Guide students in developing competitive university profiles through:
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Leadership opportunities
  • Volunteering
  • Competitions
  • Internships
  • Relevant academic and enrichment programs

4. University Research & Partnerships

  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with universities, colleges, and higher education institutions.
  • Organize university visits, university fairs, information sessions, and admissions workshops.
  • Coordinate visits and presentations by university admissions representatives for students and parents.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of universities, degree programs, admission requirements, tuition fees, scholarships, deadlines, and application procedures.
  • Monitor changes in university admission policies, entry requirements, and application processes.
  • Develop and maintain a network of university contacts to support students with accurate and current information.

5. Scholarships & Financial Guidance

  • Research and identify available scholarships, financial-aid opportunities, and funding options.
  • Advise students and parents on scholarship eligibility requirements and application procedures.
  • Support students in preparing scholarship applications and required supporting documents.
  • Maintain an updated database of scholarship opportunities and deadlines.
  • Communicate relevant scholarship opportunities to eligible students and families.

6. Parent & Student Communication

  • Conduct individual and group university counseling sessions for students and parents.
  • Deliver parent information sessions covering university pathways, admission requirements, application procedures, and deadlines.
  • Provide clear, accurate, and timely guidance regarding university requirements and acceptance conditions.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, university planning, and application status.
  • Ensure students and parents understand important application deadlines, requirements, and offer conditions.

7. Application Tracking & Documentation

  • Maintain confidential, accurate, and up-to-date records of student university applications.
  • Track application deadlines, submitted documents, offers, conditional offers, and final admission decisions.
  • Monitor outstanding requirements and follow up with students to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure students understand the conditions attached to university offers.
  • Assist students and parents in comparing university offers and evaluating available options.
  • Maintain accurate records of final university destinations and enrollment outcomes.
  • Prepare regular reports for school leadership covering university applications, offers, acceptances, scholarships, and student destinations.

8. Compliance, Confidentiality & Professional Development

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of student academic, personal, and application information.
  • Ensure all university guidance and application support is provided in accordance with school policies and applicable requirements.
  • Keep current with changes in higher education systems, university admission policies, standardized testing, scholarships, and emerging career pathways.
  • Participate in relevant professional development, university counselor networks, conferences, and training opportunities.
  • Promote informed, ethical, and student-centered university and career decision-making.
