HCP Science Lead - Allegra

About the job:  

To lead the integration of science into the brand strategy and execution across global core brands. The role serves as the scientific integrator across Medical, Regulatory, Brand and HCP teams, ensuring claims are accurate, engaging and compliant, and that HCP-facing content is grounded in high-quality evidence. The Science Lead provides direction for content development, evidence requirements, and scientific training for HCP activation.

Main responsibilities: 

  • Own the Scientific Message Map  for the brand and ensure alignment across promotional and non-promotional HCP content. 

  • Co-develop the HCP engagement strategy with Brand and Medical to align evidence, HCP claims, and storytelling across channels. 

  • Translate clinical study data, real-world evidence, and platform science into usable content formats for HCPs (e.g. detail aids, symposia slides, pharmacy tools). 

  • Ensure scientific accuracy and compliance of all HCP-facing materials in collaboration with Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Legal. 

  • Serve as the scientific point of contact for the Global Brand Team in collaboration with the Global Medical Lead and Platform Leads (INNs). 

  • Input into e2e claims development and evidence planning with R&D and Science Hub for innovation pipeline or medical switch opportunities. 

  • Support Medical and Field teams with scientific training, Q&A development, and objection handling tools. 

  • Interface with external experts (e.g. KOLs, pharmacists, academics) to shape evidence dissemination strategies and build advocacy. 

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

Value Creation: 

  • Scientific HCP reach KPIs set and achieved. Congress presence and publication plan milestones met 

  • Contribution to new or enhanced HCP claims pipeline through greater use of grants & donations, upweighted use of Science Content hub and literature reviews. Creative use of existing and upcoming studies (inc RWE) 

  • Timeliness and quality of scientific review, HCP claims validation, substantiation & review. % of HCP content aligned to validated Scientific Message Map 

  • % of promotional and non-promotional content deemed scientifically compliant. Internal audit outcomes on scientific content governance 

External recognition: 

  • KOL engagement and scientific partnership activation 

  • Scientific credibility ratings from NGOs, KOLs and HCP surveys eg: FIP & local NGOs acceptance of grants, donations Accuracy and scientific credibility ratings (internal/external reviews) 

  • Advocacy uplift linked to scientific content delivery (congresses, symposia, round tables etc) 

About you:  

Education & Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine or Public Health (PhD, PharmD, MD, MSc)

  • Qualification in Medical Writing, Scientific Affairs, or Regulatory Science is desirable

Experience & Technical Skills :

  • 7–10 years’ experience in scientific/medical affairs roles with significant cross-functional collaboration

  • Deep understanding of HCP behaviour, scientific content development, and claims governance process.

  • Proven ability to translate complex science into actionable communication

  • Experience in consumer healthcare, OTC, or pharmaceutical brand environments

  • Skilled in working across promotional/non-promotional content boundaries

  • Familiarity with tools such as Veeva Vault, PromoMats, iEnvision or equivalent
