Role Description The Freelance Third-Party Inspector – Trade, Cargo & Supply Chain Inspection role is a part time job paied based on assigment, on-site position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The inspector will conduct physical inspections of trade goods, cargo shipments, and supply chain assets, verifying quantity, condition, packaging, labeling, and compliance with client specifications and relevant standards. Typical tasks include documenting findings through detailed reports, photographs, and checklists, and communicating clearly with clients and internal coordinators to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies. The role also involves adherence to QIS.ae inspection protocols, maintaining impartiality, and working safely at ports, warehouses, logistics hubs, and client facilities. The inspector is expected to manage inspection schedules, travel within the region as needed, and deliver timely, accurate, and unbiased inspection reports.
Qualifications
- Strong inspection, verification, and reporting skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify non-conformities in trade goods, cargo, and supply chain operations.
- Knowledge of logistics, trade documentation, and supply chain processes, including basic understanding of Incoterms, packing lists, bills of lading, and quality standards.
- Ability to use digital tools for data capture and reporting (e.g., tablets, inspection apps, cameras, MS Office or similar software).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, site personnel, and internal teams in a clear, professional, and unbiased manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple inspections, meet deadlines, and work independently on-site.
- Relevant experience in inspection, quality control, logistics, or a related field; prior third-party inspection or auditing experience is an advantage.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to ports, warehouses, and client sites within Dubai and potentially across the UAE.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); knowledge of Arabic or other regional languages is beneficial.
- Diploma or degree in logistics, engineering, supply chain, or a related discipline is preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
