Job description

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in architectural metal works, aluminum fabrication, stainless steel, mild steel, and customized metal fabrication projects.

The candidate will be responsible for managing the overall day-to-day operations of the company, including workshop production, fabrication, manpower planning, procurement coordination, project execution, site installation, quality, safety, and delivery schedules.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience, including experience managing fabrication workshop and site operations in the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete operational activities of architectural metal, aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel fabrication projects.
  • Oversee projects from order confirmation through drawing approval, material procurement, fabrication, delivery, installation, snagging, and final handover.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the fabrication workshop and project sites.
  • Plan and monitor:

  • Delivery requirements
  • Coordinate closely with technical, production, procurement, sales, estimation, stores, quality, and site teams.
  • Ensure smooth communication and coordination between the workshop and project sites.

  • Welding
  • Grinding
  • Polishing
  • Machining
  • Assembly
  • Powder coating
  • Painting
  • Finishing
  • Manage fabrication and installation of architectural items including:
  • Aluminum doors and windows
  • Handrails and balustrades

  • Stainless steel works
  • Mild steel structures
  • Customized architectural metal works
  • Review project priorities and prepare weekly and monthly production and installation plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed within agreed quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor workshop productivity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines, tools, vehicles, and other company resources.
  • Monitor material consumption and minimize wastage and rework.
  • Coordinate material procurement to ensure required materials are available before production.
  • Follow up with suppliers and procurement teams for timely delivery of materials and accessories.
  • Monitor inventory levels of frequently used fabrication materials and consumables.
  • Ensure fabrication activities are performed according to approved shop drawings, fabrication drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with technical teams regarding drawing approvals, site measurements, and technical clarifications.
  • Ensure proper site measurements are taken before fabrication.
  • Monitor site installation activities and ensure sufficient manpower, materials, tools, and equipment are available.
  • Conduct regular visits to project sites to monitor progress and resolve operational issues.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams regarding execution requirements.
  • Attend project coordination and progress meetings when required.
  • Resolve production delays, manpower shortages, technical problems, material issues, and site-related challenges.
  • Monitor subcontractors and outsourced activities where applicable.
  • Ensure subcontractor works meet required quality and delivery standards.
  • Monitor project costs and take measures to prevent unnecessary expenses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce operational costs.
  • Establish and maintain proper operational procedures for workshop and site activities.
  • Ensure proper documentation for production, material issuance, deliveries, site activities, and project completion.
  • Monitor daily and weekly operational reports.
  • Prepare management reports covering:
  • Production status
  • Project progress
  • Manpower utilization
  • Material availability
  • Site installation progress
  • Delays and operational risks
  • Productivity
  • Ensure proper coordination of vehicles and transportation for staff, materials, and fabricated items.
  • Ensure finished products are properly inspected, protected, packed, and transported to project sites.
  • Coordinate project snagging, rectification, and final handover.
  • Ensure customer complaints and operational issues are addressed promptly.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organization within the workshop.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Ensure employees use required PPE and follow safe working practices.
  • Develop and supervise engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians, fabricators, welders, helpers, drivers, and site teams.
  • Conduct regular operational meetings with department heads and supervisors.
  • Establish clear daily and weekly performance targets for operational teams.
  • Monitor employee performance, discipline, attendance, overtime, and productivity.
  • Report major operational risks and corrective actions to senior management.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in architectural metal works, aluminum fabrication, stainless steel, mild steel, façade, or related fabrication industries.
  • Minimum 3–5 years in an operations, production, project, or managerial position.
  • Strong experience managing both fabrication workshop and site installation operations.
  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Assembly and installation
  • Good understanding of shop drawings, fabrication drawings, BOQs, specifications, and material requirements.
  • Experience handling multiple fabrication and installation projects simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and manpower management.
  • Good understanding of material planning, procurement, inventory, and wastage control.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural metal products including doors, windows, railings, balustrades, staircases, canopies, gates, louvers, cladding, frames, and customized fabrication.
  • Good understanding of project scheduling and site coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to manage engineers, supervisors, technicians, fabricators, helpers, and subcontractors.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of operational costs.
  • Good knowledge of quality control and inspection requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of workshop and site safety practices.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project/ERP management systems.
  • UAE/GCC fabrication industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Valid UAE Driving License is preferred.

Preferred Candidate

A hands-on and result-oriented Operations Manager with proven experience managing the complete operations of an architectural aluminum and metal fabrication company.

The preferred candidate should be capable of independently managing production, manpower, materials, procurement coordination, workshop productivity, site installation, quality, safety, logistics, and project delivery.

The candidate must be able to coordinate effectively between Sales, Estimation, Technical, Procurement, Production, Stores, and Site Teams and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to required quality standards.

Experience managing multiple fabrication projects and a sizeable workshop and site workforce in the UAE architectural metal and aluminum industry will be highly preferred.

Pay: AED150.00 - AED250.00 per day
