University Career Counselor

The University Career Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for guiding secondary and post-secondary students through university selection, application processes, and career planning. The counselor will conduct one-to-one and group counseling sessions, support students in identifying academic and career interests, and advise on suitable university programs locally and internationally. Day-to-day tasks include organizing university fairs and information sessions, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of global admissions requirements, and collaborating with teaching staff and families to support student progression. The role also involves preparing resources and workshops on CV writing, personal statements, interview skills, and career development, while tracking student outcomes and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Career Counseling and Student Counseling to support diverse learners with university choices and personal development.
• Candidates should possess skills in Career Development and Career Management to help students plan academic pathways and long-term career goals.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to engage with students, families, and university representatives.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Education, Career Guidance, or a related field; a counseling certification or postgraduate training in guidance counseling is preferred.
• Experience working in a school or university setting, familiarity with international higher education systems, and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment are highly beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills, proficiency with digital tools for student tracking and communication, and a commitment to ethical, student-centered counseling practices are desired.
