Be part of our Project Execution team as a Site Engineer – Steel Structure in Jeddah, KSA. What are my responsibilities?

  • Lead and supervise the site installation of structural steelwork, platforms and equipment support structures for Cargo and Baggage Handling Systems.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate daily steel installation activities, including allocation of manpower, work fronts, materials, tools, and equipment, in coordination with the site supervision staff.
  • Prepare and coordinate work packages, installation sequences and priorities for site execution.
  • Coordinate closely with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Engineering teams to ensure all prerequisites and interfaces are addressed in line with the installation sequence.
  • Review approved drawings, structural details, specifications and method statements and ensure installation activities are executed accordingly.
  • Identify drawing and engineering discrepancies pertaining to construction concerns and coordinate with Engineering teams for timely resolution.
  • Monitor installation progress, productivity, manpower, materials, equipment and site constraints and provide regular updates to the Site Manager.
  • Coordinate surveying activities required for positioning, alignment, levels and verification of installed steel structures.
  • Manage and supervise site teams and/or subcontractors, ensuring activities are executed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate material requirements and availability at site, including proper receipt, handling, storage, identification and protection of structural steel components.
  • Support Quality inspections and ensure non-conformities, punch-list items, and snags are rectified and closed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure required site records/reports & documentation are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, security, environmental, and quality requirements throughout site execution.

What do I need to qualify for the role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant site execution experience in structural steel installation within industrial, material handling, logistics, infrastructure, or similar projects. Experience in Cargo or Baggage Handling Systems is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading site teams and/or subcontractors for structural steel installation and erection activities.
  • Strong practical knowledge of structural steel erection, including installation sequences.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings, general arrangement drawings, fabrication drawings, connection details, and installation drawings.
  • Good understanding of surveying methods and equipment used for positioning, alignment, levels, and dimensional verification of steel structures.
  • Practical understanding of structural steel inspection requirements, installation quality control and snag/punch-list management.
  • Experience coordinating structural steel installation with civil works, mechanical equipment, conveyors, and other project interfaces.
  • Strong site coordination and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify construction and engineering discrepancies and coordinate their resolution.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams.
  • Good understanding of HSE requirements and safe working practices associated with structural steel erection and construction activities.
  • Good command of English; Arabic or other languages would be an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel and work on projects within and outside KSA as required.
