Job description

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Behaviour & Psychological Safety Consultant with a strong background in Human Factors, Psychology, or Behavioural Science to support organisational transformation programmes across high-hazard industries, including Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Chemicals, and related sectors.

This role combines deep industry and field experience with expertise in understanding human behaviour, psychological safety, and the people impacts of change. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders and frontline teams to design and implement sustainable change initiatives that improve business performance, strengthen safety culture, and enhance workforce engagement.

A key focus of the role is assessing and influencing behavioural change, measuring the effectiveness of transformation programmes, and embedding practices that promote psychological safety, resilience, and high-performing teams. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of how individuals and organisations respond to change and be able to translate psychological and human factors principles into practical, measurable workplace outcomes.

Requirements: Key Requirements

Degree in Psychology, Human Factors, Organisational Psychology, Behavioural Science, or a related discipline.

Proven experience delivering behavioural safety change management and transformation initiatives in industrial or high-hazard environments.

Field-based operational experience within sectors such as Mining & Metals, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Manufacturing, Energy, or similar.

Expertise in psychological safety, behavioural change, culture transformation, and workforce engagement.

Ability to measure, assess, and influence behavioural outcomes associated with organisational change.

Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, with experience working from frontline teams through to senior leadership.
