Job description

External Job Description Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Assemble and disassemble mechanical and optical sub-assemblies under supervision, including mounting of optical elements and installation on optical benches.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of EO systems, including power supplies, optics, and control units, in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Carry out calibration, alignment, functional checks, and acceptance testing as directed, including ESS testing and return-to-service activities.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, usage and accountability of assigned tools, test equipment and EO components during maintenance activities.
  • Alignment & Testing
  • Operate standard alignment and test equipment as trained (autocollimators, interferometers, beam profilers, spectrophotometers).
  • Assist in alignment of optical components (lenses, mirrors) to meet defined performance requirements.
  • Support final testing and validation of EO systems prior to release.
  • Documentation
  • Record maintenance activities, test results, equipment usage, and assembly records in accordance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain Job Cards, test logs and work instructions.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Follow safety procedures, cleanroom standards, and contamination control practices at all times.
  • Ensure optics and mechanical parts are handled, stored, and cleaned as per procedures.
  • Collaboration
  • Work closely with Senior Technicians, Engineers, and cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, thermal) during integration and testing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and support corrective actions when required.
  • Communicate technical issues clearly and maintain accurate technical records.

Requirements

  • Diploma or College graduate in Electronics, Optics, Mechanical, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of EO systems or optical components (training will be provided).
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Advanced English level
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
  • Knowledge of safety and cleanroom practices is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently under guidance and as part of a team.
