About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, meticulous individual for a flexible, part-time technician position. This role is perfectly suited for a senior citizen, retiree, or veteran hands-on professional looking to stay active, utilize their fine motor skills, and earn supplementary income without the pressure of full-time shift work. You will handle the precise assembly, cleaning, and packing of our delicate optical components.

Work Arrangement & Compensation

Location:

Singapore / On-site workshop (with flexible scheduling).

Hours:

Flexible part-time hours (e.g., 2 to 3 days a week, or a few hours per day, to be mutually agreed upon).

Budget:

Competitive hourly rate or daily allowance tailored for a lean budget.

Key Responsibilities

Perform precise, hands-on assembly and alignment of optical components and mechanical parts.

Inspect, clean, and prepare delicate glass lenses, prisms, and optical coatings before packaging.

Assist engineers with basic troubleshooting, testing, and prototyping setups.

Maintain an organized, clean, and safe laboratory or workshop environment.

Pack finished products carefully according to standard engineering guidelines to prevent damage during shipping.

Document basic assembly steps and report any component defects to the engineering team.

Requirements

Prior experience in hands-on technical roles (e.g., electronics assembly, watch repairing, precision mechanics, or lab work).

Excellent hand-eye coordination, a steady hand, and high attention to detail for handling small components.

Ability to read basic technical drawings or follow step-by-step visual assembly assembly guides.

Patient, disciplined, and proactive approach to repetitive, high-quality work.

Basic spoken/written communication skills to coordinate with local engineers.

No advanced degree required; relevant vocational training or life experience is highly valued.
