Role Description The Export Control Officer (m/w/d) at DMG MORI EMEA is a full-time, on-site role based in Munich. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with international export control regulations and internal company policies, including the review and classification of products, technologies, and services for export. Day-to-day tasks include assessing customer orders and business partners for export control risks, preparing and managing export licenses and approvals, and monitoring changes in relevant laws and regulations. The role also involves advising internal stakeholders on export and import requirements, supporting audits and internal controls, and collaborating with global teams to standardize and improve trade compliance processes. The Export Control Officer contributes to risk mitigation, documentation quality, and continuous improvement of compliance workflows.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Trade Compliance and Regulatory Compliance frameworks and the ability to apply them in an industrial, international environment.
- Practical experience with Export and Import Export processes, including product classification, license management, and sanctions/embargo checks.
- Understanding of Import Compliance requirements, customs procedures, and related documentation standards.
- Relevant academic background in law, business, international trade, or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial companies is beneficial, ideally within machine tools or related sectors.
- Confident use of ERP and compliance tools, as well as strong proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a structured working style, with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills in English; German or additional languages are an advantage.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and willingness to work collaboratively with international and cross-functional teams on-site in Munich.
